Elvian cadets take part in Autumn CCF Exercise

CCF Cadets from the Army and RAF sections recently took part in an Autumn Term exercise at Minley Training Area, near Camberley. After setting up a harbour area, the cadets took part in a range of engaging activities designed to develop their military and leadership skills.
The exercise began with Individual Close Quarter Battle stands which enabled the Senior cadets to refresh their elementary battle skills, including observation, movement and weapon handling. The Senior cadets also took part in night reconnaissance patrolling which tested their navigational skills, team work and allowed many of them to demonstrate their leadership skills.
Our new recruits learnt for the first time how to survive out in the open on a winter exercise. Lessons were delivered to show them how to build basha shelters, cook their field rations, and how to apply effective camoflourge and concealment.
